Our April Word of the Month: Bloom
We just love the word Bloom. By definition, it’s the magical moment when nature whispers to a seed, “It’s your time to shine!” And couldn’t we all need that voice of encouragement in our own lives?!
Blooming also is a word we associate with flowers — something else that’s steeped in deep meaning! If you’d like to take our word of the month to the next level, check out this list of spring flowers and their associations. Is there one that resonates with how you feel — or want to feel — as you bloom into April?
- Tulip: Symbolizing perfect love, tulips come in various colors, each with its own meaning. Red tulips represent true love, while yellow tulips symbolize cheerful thoughts and sunshine.
- Daffodil: Often associated with the arrival of spring, daffodils symbolize rebirth and new beginnings. They are also a symbol of hope and prosperity.
- Cherry Blossom: In Japanese culture, cherry blossoms (sakura) represent the transient nature of life and the beauty of fleeting moments. They symbolize renewal and the ephemeral nature of existence.
- Hyacinth: With their fragrant blooms, hyacinths symbolize sincerity and constancy. Different colors of hyacinths convey different meanings, such as blue for sincerity, purple for sorrow, and white for loveliness.
- Lily: Lilies are often associated with purity, virtue, and renewal. They can also symbolize devotion and humility. The Easter lily, in particular, represents the resurrection and hope.
- Peony: Known as the “king of flowers” in Chinese culture, peonies symbolize prosperity, good fortune, and honor. They are also associated with romance, compassion, and a happy marriage. (PS, if you love peonies, be sure to check out our new Painted Peonies collection in the shop!)
